Here at jades baby owls, the safety and wellbeing of all children is my utmost priority. I am committed to providing a secure environment for your child, ensuring they get the care they need. I take every precaution with visitors including family by having them sign in and out upon arrival to keep a safe space. You can be assured that anyone living in my home undergoes regular DBS checks, giving you peace of mind about your child's safety while in my care.

Why should I choose a childminder?

Here at Jades baby owls, I pride myself on maintaining a small adult-to-child ratio, ensuring personalized attention for each child. My home-from-home environment offers a warm and nurturing space, that adheres to the same regulations as formal settings like nurseries. I provide daily diaries and photos to keep parents updated on their child’s activities, alongside regular outings that enrich their learning experiences. childminders follow the same development pathways as other formal settings, ensuring a supportive approach to your child's growth.

As a childcare professional I adhere to the government guidelines. I am registered with CIW to care for children from birth to 12. I can have no more than eight children up to 12 years of age, of those eight children, no more than six may be under 8 years of age.  Of those six, no more than three may be under 5 years of age.  Of those three children, normally no more than one may be under 18 months of age, although exceptions can be made for siblings. Do you have children of your own?

I understand that me being a mother is important to parents and even though I don't have my own I love spending time with children and providing a space that is dedicated to providing a homely atmosphere where children can explore and learn freely. I love watching my owlets grow into their unique characters while feeling secure and supported. Those joyful smiles during morning drop-off are what inspire me to create lasting connections. Together with my families, I endeavor to build a nurturing community that celebrates every child’s journey!

I don't want my child to have puddings or sweet treats is that okay?

Yes you can opt out of treats. though I do like to make sure parents understand that by opting out children might miss out on special activities and celebrations Like birthdays or baking Welsh cakes on St David's day

What do you do in the day?

Here at Jades baby owls I take a child-led learning approach this is an educational approach that places the child at the center of their own learning process. It allows children to explore, make choices, and follow their interests while being supported by adults. Key aspects include:
Facilitation by Adults: Parents and educators facilitate learning by providing resources and support rather than directing it.
Self-Directed Exploration: Children engage in self-directed exploration and play that aligns with their individual interests and developmental needs.
Choice of Activities: Children are given the opportunity to choose their own activities, fostering independence and creativity.
Respect for Individuality: This approach respects each child's individuality and promotes growth in various developmental areas.
Overall, child-led learning encourages a love of learning that can last a lifetime. This means sometimes the day might look different to our daily plan.

What was your previous job?

Before becoming a childminder I had worked as a florist since I was a teenager. I have over 15 years of experience as a florist at my family's business, Tiger Lily's, I bring creativity and a love for nature into my childminding. I’m excited to share my floristry skills with the little ones growing a cutting garden together, preserving flowers, and creating beautiful floral arrangements and crafts. I cherish the memories of our classes at the Wilderness Festival, where we made magical wands, and I look forward to making new memories with your children!
